Mari Fitz-Wynn and her husband P.E. Wynn have homeschooled for 12 years. Mari currently teaches the last two of their six children. In 1999, they pursued their vision to foster a spirit of partnership between new and veteran home school families by providing information, advice, and godly counsel, through a variety of methods. Presently there are three main areas of the ministry: - First of all, Mari hosted a 30-minute weekly radio program called "Heart for Home School" which is aired throughout north central North Carolina and outlying parts of Virginia for 7 years. She currently co-hosts a 15 minute Pod Cast that covers a variety of homeschool topics, and resources with PrestonSpeed Publications founder, Beverly Schmitt.
- Secondly, you may be interested in knowing that the ministry has grown from a 15-minute radio program to [providing] quarterly one-day seminars on a variety of topics, such as home educating special needs children, how-to home school, apprenticeship/scholarship programs, and mentoring new home school families. The HFHS ministry held its first annual winter conference starting 2003. This day and a half event is features nationally recognized experts in the homeschool community, as well as local and regional speakers.
- Finally, the ministry has implemented a support group, "One to One Ratio", for single parents that home school or are interested in becoming home educators.
Mari is a pastor's wife, writer, and a C.L.A.S.S. certified speaker (Christian Leaders, Authors, and Speakers Seminar). She loves to share her experiences, passion, and 'heart for home school' with audiences. |
