Keeping Education At Heart, and Hearts At Home

How It All Started

Mari Fitz-Wynn and her late husband, P. Edward Wynn, homeschooled their six children for nine years. Over the course of time Mari and Edward have recognized the experience, and wealth of information veteran home educators have to offer new home school families. Their question of how to bring the two together became the vision for Heart For Home School Ministries. Their desire was to provide a means by which to foster a spirit of mentoring, advising, and partnering between families with little or no familiarity with homeschooling and those that were seasoned and knowledgeable about teaching at home.

The vision started as the weekly Heart For Home School radio program. Mari’s aspiration to help families to educate their children with confidence and the authority of God’s word was, and still is, an essential goal of the program.  The Heart for Home School radio program soon became a part of the Heart for Home School Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit 501 (C) 3  organization. The vision has grown to include free seminars for home educators held throughout the year, an annual winter conference, held in January, and the implementation of a single parent homeschool support group, One to One Ratio.
